Board Certification

No formal state board certification for family law specialists in Iowa.

However, some Iowa attorneys hold NBTA certification (National Board of Trial Advocacy) in Family Law Trial Advocacy.

What to look for:

  • AAML membership (American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers)
  • ISBA Family Law Section membership
  • NBTA certification in Family Law Trial Advocacy
  • Experience with Iowa Code Chapter 598
